Sky Careers

Name: Craig Summers

Job Title: Role Model

Describe your role in one word: Rewarding

What area of Sky do you work in and what do you do on a daily basis? I work within our Save department. On a daily basis I support our new Advisors on their journey. This could be as small as answering a question, through to getting  very involved in a one to one coaching session. I also get involved with calls from our customers.

How did you get into your role? I started as an Advisor but wanted to get out there and get myself known; so after 8 months in the Advisor role I applied for the Role Model position and was successful.

What’s the most enjoyable thing about your role and what surprised you most? The most enjoyable thing about my role is seeing people progress in their role within such a short time and knowing that I have made an impact! What surprised me most about my role is the amount of learning’s I still take away at the end of the day.

How have you made a difference in your role? I’ve been able to mentor and coach Advisors to start moving forward in their journey here.

Describe your work/life balance: My work life balance is perfect - I manage to work 37 hours a week, go to the gym 4 times a week and enjoy a lazy Sunday to myself!

Have you had the opportunity to progress? What advice would you give to others trying to develop their career? Absolutely! There are so many opportunities to progress or change your role completely!  We have the “Work for Sky” page available, where the job roles and descriptions are there for everyone and so easy to find.

Your top application tip for people applying now – what did you do to stand out when you were applying: I was very open and honest. I did my research on the company and was already a proud customer of Sky.

An interesting fact no one else knows about you: I was once asked in McDonalds by a random woman if would model for her new portfolio! Head hunted whilst eating a big mac.
